Where Others Saw a Water Problem, Eseigbe Saw a Responsibility

Where Others Saw a Water Problem, Eseigbe Saw a Responsibility

For generations, communities across Esanland have grappled with the challenge of inadequate access to safe and reliable water. Despite the emergence of leaders at various levels of government, the provision of this basic necessity has remained a persistent concern for many residents.

Against this backdrop, Sir Lucky Eseigbe has demonstrated a different approach to leadership; one that sees challenges not merely as problems to be discussed, but as responsibilities that demand practical solutions.

Having listened to the concerns of his people and understood the importance of access to clean and safe water, Eseigbe responded with action. Through his intervention, a challenge that had long affected members of the community was addressed, turning what was once a source of frustration into a story of relief and renewed hope.

The significance of the intervention extends beyond the provision of water. It reflects a leadership philosophy built around identifying genuine community needs, responding to them and delivering measurable impact.

As the African proverb says, “A good tree does not grow overnight, but when it grows, many find shelter under its branches.”

For Eseigbe, leadership is therefore not simply about making promises. It is about recognising the needs of the people, accepting responsibility and deploying available resources and experience to create tangible improvements in their lives.

His record at the grassroots presents a compelling argument for what could be achieved with a broader platform and greater responsibility.

As the people of the Esan Central, Esan West and Igueben Federal Constituency consider the choice before them, the question is not only about who seeks elective office, but also about the kind of leadership they want to entrust with their collective future.

If an individual can identify a pressing need at the grassroots, take responsibility and deliver a practical solution, there is a strong case for giving that individual an opportunity to replicate such impact on a wider scale.

The aspiration, therefore, is to take Eseigbe’s vision, experience and commitment from the community to the Green Chamber, where they can be deployed in pursuit of broader development across the Federal Constituency.

Support experience. Support vision. Support development.
